One of my favorite fishing memories was in 2019, when we were upstate for Mother’s Day.
We managed an early start, about 5am, with all of our supplies and a lunch from DeCiccos.
We rowed all the way north on Diverting Reservoir, up to the East Branch of the Croton River. We were out for about 5 hours, caught a range of smallmouth and largemouth bass, passed under the bridge littered with swallow nests - had the entire morning to ourselves.
In the home movie edit later that year, I scored this section with a Blaze Foley song, Moonlight. Whenever I hear this song, I think of this morning and how happy we were as friends on that boat.
